About Us
We are Step Up Dance Academy and while it may seem like “just a dance studio” to the common eye, SUDA is what I like to call a safe space for growth. Yes, we practice our routines, perfect our skills, and go to competition but it is what is behind the ballet slipper that I am truly proud of. I strive to continuously create an environment for my students where they can fall and get back up stronger. Where they learn valuable lessons of persistence, dedication, and grit. Where they feel pushed and most importantly believed in. Step Up Dance Academy is far more than just a dance studio. From the stage to the board room each student is provided the tools and the support to take lessons that will serve them for a lifetime.

Hey y'all! My name is Taylor Kilpatrick, and I am the founder of Step Up Dance Academy. Dance has taken me all around the United States from the Joffrey Ballet school in New York City to the Tremaine dance company intensives. I entered my freshman year of college at Texas Christian University in 2016 and was accepted into the School of Classical and Contemporary Dance. I quickly realized my passion was for teaching and choreography rather than performance. At this moment, I decided that I would one day open my very own dance academy and help build the next generation of well-rounded dancers!
Kaitlin attends Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy in the Dance strand. Kaitlin has experience as a teacher assistant with TADC and was an inaugural company dancer serving as Captain for two years. She is currently on Tremaine Performance Company where she trains with Tremaine Dance Faculty and assists at Tremaine Conventions across the U.S. Having extensive training in several areas of dance, Kaitlin has trained with Laurie Johnson, Rhythm Soul Tap Company, Art Ballet Academy and at the Dallas Conservatory International Summer Dance Intensive. Kaitlin is very passionate about dancing and excited about teaching!
